Well, what's to know? I like to do guy things (sports, tv, yadda yadda), but I do have a sensitive side. Not really shallow either (which is a good thing). I'm in college now, studying web design.
As for my hobbies, I like to write. A lot. I am currently writing a book (fantasy related) as well as an animated series called "Hollow Creek." I'll post some more info about it at some point (including a trailer once I make one). I am looking for volunteers to do some voice work for the series, so if you're interested, let me know.
I also write music. I write both solo stuff (although a few friends have contributed along the way) as well as play in a band. I put the website for my solo stuff as my homepage (it's listed somewhere on this site), so go check it out. I play guitar mostly, although I also play the keyboard a little bit, and I've played drums for over 10 years.
In terms of music, I like mostly power and symphonic metal, though if any paticular song has a good sound I'll like it. My favorite bands include, but are not limited to, Nightwish (they're my favorite, hands down), Kamelot, Epica, Symphony X, Therion, Power Quest, Cellador, Lorenguard, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Hammerfall, Blind Guardian, Lullacry, Domine, DragonForce, After Forever, Within Temptation, Tristania, Finntroll, and Rhapsody. I also like Rammstein, In Extremo, Disturbed, System of a Down (some of it), old Korn, and stuff like that. I'm also into neo-classial music (mostly film score and stuff like that - Howard Shore and Robert Duncan are two of the best). I do like a limited amount of techno too, but note that it is a VERY limited amount. Most techno I've heard is not worth my time.
I DJ at an online radio station as well (http://www.whiplashradio.com - look for DJ Infernum). I play mostly power and symphonic metal, though I also take requests. My show is on from 4:00 to 6:00 central time on Sundays (10-12 GMT), so tune in!
As far as entertainment goes, I enjoy watching well-scripted TV shows, such as Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Charmed (ok, this one has its flaws, but the overall plot lines are good), Smallville and Veronica Mars. On the comedy front, I like The Simpsons, Malcolm in the Middle, and That 70s Show. I absolutely hate reality TV and hope it ends soon, as it is killing scripted shows because it's cheaper to produce and the masses like it because they don't have to think about what they've seen. *steps off soapbox*
I'm not much of a movie person, though I do like the Star Wars series (yes, all 6 of them), the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and The Matrix trilogy.
I had mentioned watching sports, so I feel I must mention that I am a huge baseball fan and a loyal Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox fan (I prefer the Cubs over the Sox though). I do watch the Bulls (NBA) and Bears (NFL) to a lesser extent.
